Me and Astro Talent Quest 2008 Winner

#Gan Wan Chean, 颜莞倩, winner of Astro Talent Quest 2008.#

"Remember to vote for my friend, she's in Astro Talent Quest !" said "My" Chelle.

Thats what I've been listening the whole semester 1 or 2 during my Foundation in UTAR. So whenever we're having our dinner at the restaurant we known as "RM3.60", I'll watch the TV as it showing Astro and I would like to know who's the friend of her's which enters the Astro Talent Quest, and its from top 20, to top 10...and then top 5 to enter the finals.

When I'm back to Puchong, my house, I realize that my whole family were catching up the Astro Talent Quest show too, so I told them my classmate's friend was in the contest and I dont know who is it. Then the other day, I know it from "My" Chelle that its Wan Chean that she's been talking about all these time.

First impression ? Quite tom-boy-ish yet very independent and has high self-confidence. And I watched the finals on TV live from Genting and she sang the songs quite well. My grandma said that Wan Chean was the one she's been praising and looking forward to, and hope that she could be the champion for this year's Astro Talent Quest; and I also got quite some positive comments from my younger brother and sister about her past performance.

And so at the end, she's really the one who won the title Astro Talent Quest 2008 champion.

One of her most memorial song that she sang was 好不好, the first ever song I met her was this song. The soft and relaxing melody with her strong voice makes this song perfect and she really deserves to win it.

And then few months later, the Singaporian singer JJ Lin came to Jaya One PJ for a small function as a judge for the dancing competition, as well as for signing autographs for his fans regardless of his new album release. Everyone was pushing forward to meet JJ in a closer distance, while me and my FRIENDS were left out behind. But, something caught my eyes...

"Is that Wan Chean ?" I asked HT.

"Where ?"

"There, infront of us ! That one..."

"Ai yo, Wan Chean you also dont know ark ? She's the Astro Talent Quest winner ma..." said YH proudly.

She's here to cheer up for her friends who're taking part in the competiton. Then she caught some attention and people started to ask her to take photos with them.

"See ? People taking pictures with her already...she's definately Wan Chean ! Help me take a picture with her..." I said to HT.

Thats it ! I'm the last one to take a photo with her and she dissapeared to nowhere after that after the competion ends. Quite happy to be able to be in such a close distance with a star...I wish I could had the same chance for Fish Leong, which is my favorite female artist of all time. At least a glance at her from far distance will be enough, as long as its not from the television screen !

The (Partial) Solar Eclipse Captured !

All right...whats going on with this pinhole thingy stuff ? Whats so nice inside the pinhole until we're frozen and eyes wide starring inside it !? You'll know later...so before that ...

As you all already knew, there's an solar eclipse on 22nd July morning in India. Sorry for the mistake that I made, when it is 5.30am in India, its actually around 8.00am in Malaysia. Thanks to SX's morning call and her SMS notification, me and Sensei were able to catch this astronomical phenomenon with our own eyes.

We depart from my house at 8.10am+ for breakfast and around 8.30am, we're there to catch the eclipse. When we're looking at the sun, we found out that we're too stupid to look directly on the sun as we're getting a bright spot in front of our eyes after that without seeing the eclipse. So we used a lot of materials to view the eclipse, from plastic bags to camera and quite transparent and thin paper.

"I'll make a pinhole." I said, and off to my own house after the failure to see the eclipse at Sensei's house using all sort of materials we could found.

Searched the Internet and found some sites showing how to make a pinhole to view solar eclipse. With quick, I found all the materials I need and successfully made one for myself. With my not really nimble feet, I rushed out of the house and saw my housemate preparing to start his engine of his motorcycle. He was like giving me the "what-are-you-going-to-do-with-that-box-you're-holding ?" look and I pretend that I couldnt open the gate to avoid of being a freak looking to the sun for no reason. Later on when he leaves, I rushed out joyfully and quickly used the pinhole to view the eclipse. With the arrival of Sensei, we took the picture below around 9.25am+.

#OK, there's a light inside, which is the sun from what I read on the Internet. But, there's a slight curve on the upper-left side of this circle...did I made the pinhole wrongly ? Is the hole I poked not round enough ?#

After several tries of poking the hole to make sure it is ROUND, the same image still visible. So I switched the position of the pinhole to check whether izzit the fault of the hole I poked. Amazingly, it was not ! So thats the partial solar eclipse that we can observe from Malaysia !

Sensei said we should take another picture of this "sun" to compare the differences. And thank goodness, after we took another picture, the difference is very visible.

So this is the evidence that the pinhole I made was usable ! I tried to switch the positions of the pinhole and the same result was obtained. So, we finally seen what we wanted to see for the whole morning. There's a lunar eclipse on 6th August, if I'm not mistaken, its only visible for the African and Europe region. Anyway...I'm so happy to be able to see the real eclipse with my own eyes and not the computer generated one from my favorite show Heroes !.

Special Post For All My Secondary School-mates

For all my secondary school-mates, especially those who're the same class and same form with me, below is a current picture of the "kinda-famous-and-interesting-person" which we always been gossiping and talking about. Familiar right ? I bet you do remember her, since she's so "special" in a certain of ways. Special appreciation to YK as she's the one who supplied this picture to me, and to Sathe, as he's the one who supplied the same picture to YK. Ready for some history !?


How special is she ? Who is she actually ? Why is everyone in S1 knew about her ? Some historical evidence shows that she's "really special"...

1. Her First Appearance Into Our Class

I remember that it was Form 3 when she firstly entered 3 Alpha, which is my class, the top class among all the Form 3s.

Hey...she's the one who sit for peralihan class ! She's in the last class during her Form 1 ! But her results became very good all of a sudden in Form 2 and now she's in our class ! She's always alone... Does she have any friends ?

Our class started to be focusing on her and tried to make fun of her later on through out the whole Form 3. She's the quiet, strange and loney kind of person by looking at the appearance. When she start to get herself active, you'll drop your jaw just by knowing what she did.

2. Strange Attitude and Behaviors

Since then, as I told you, the whole class started to focus on her. Her movements, her posture and even her attitude. There's a time when we're in Pn Rosely's Malay Language class, she did not finished off her essay or something, then she's been scolded by the teacher badly till she almost cried out. The malay girl sitting next to her (for some reason, I still remember its Nabihah) was so unlucky and was told by the teacher to help and guide her to finish off her homeworks.

Its still Form 3, where our trial PMR was around the corner. We're told to arrange the tables in the class so that we can sit for our trials the following week. After we had arranged the table and chairs, we're assigned to the seats according to the name list. My rival, MC, with all his "luck" was assigned to sit at the same table and chairs which belongs to this "special" girl. He was told to clear off all the rubbish inside the drawer and he found a lot of tissue papers inside it. There's also some kind of origami boxes found. Later on he guess that the tissue papers were used before to wipe her nose. Quite disgusting dont you think so ?

3. A Witch ?

I got this story from YK, which I cant really remember it well. The time is still our Form 3, where we're having exams that day. According to YK, she can speak to wind. Her seat was at the side which nears the window, strangely her exam paper was blown out of the window and she asked for permission to take it back. The whole class laughed out loud for her carelessness.

On the other hand, I agree with YK's point that "she can speak to the wind". I saw her walking down the corridor before on a non-windy recess time. Note that its non-windy, but somehow her hair was like blown by the coming wind and she seems like those models in the shampoo advertisement on TV. Weird...

4. Special Abilities

She became more "special" as she possessed some special abilities ! Whenever we're told to sing our national anthem during the assembly, she would sing it out loudly and proudly, and this actually caught some attention to her surroundings. She doesnt own the voice of Celion Dion or Rihanna or even Kelly Clarkson, so her singing would be...quite terrible. There's a day where we're having Chinese Language class during my Form 5 and she was told to sing a song by Jas, and she actually sing it out loud in the class ! The whole class shocked and frozen by her singing.

Another special ability she possesses is reading. Her reading skill is so good until the whole class had their most shocking day in their life. When she was told to read a passage from the text book, she would read out loudly and clearly and fluently...Her fluency is the key to our shock.

5. How Does She Looked Like After Class !?

You'll never know if your observation skill are not sharp enough. Its the year end holiday for our Form 3 and we must head to the school to get our PMR results. With my sharp eyes, I saw her walking towards the school gate in her clothes which I described it as "Hawaiian-beach-look". She just looked like those beach girls who're wearing a big hat with a mini skirt. The first reaction I gave was, "is she just came back from her year-end-holiday-trip to Hawaii ?".

6. Active Girl

Yeah, quite. She's been active in our school choir group as her singing ability is so brilliant ! Other than that, she also quite active on sports. Every year our school would had a Sports Day and 5 main houses are Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and Orange. I'm assigned to Blue and lucky enough to be the treasurer while I was Form 4. During one of the trials to select the best for the Sports Day, I saw her trying her best to jump as far as she could in long-jumping.

The interesting part that I noticed was, when she jumped, she lost her balance and fell down. Falling down isnt the part, the interesting part is how she fell down. I describe it as "watching a Chinese opera woman being pushed down with both hands lifting up high and then knee down nicely on the floor". Quite long isnt it ? Anyway, after I surveyed most of my classmates, most of them doesnt seems to notice this historical event. Too bad...

7. Nicknames

We're been giving her nicknames, as how we gave nicknames to other people as well. One of her most recognizing nicknames that we gave her was "bougainvillea", a type of flowers that we can found in our school and the rood side. Search for it in google for its picture. I already forgotten why did we gave her "bougainvillea", but I guess its mostly because of her chinese name's pronounciation was quite similliar to the chinese pronounciation of the flower bougainvillea. That day during MSN, YK refer her as 幽灵 after seeing her picture, which means "spirit" or "ghost" in english.

She also been called as "靓女" in cantonese by Jas, which means "pretty girl". Jas often used this term on her secretly and makes fun of her.

8. Affairs ?

She's always been said to be in a relationship with my rival MC or my class monitor YW. MC was suggested coz of his quietness and loney-type of look; while for YW, its actually a joke that Jas keep on teasing on him. Her true target remains unknown.

So..enough craps about her and enjoy refreshing your memories on this "interesting" person appeared through out our secondary school life. I've been thinking what kind of reactions would I receive after this was posted out...

• FRIENDS, as they're the one who kept on asking me out "yam cha", even though I kept on rejecting it since my grandma doesnt allow me to go out till late night. I just hope that before I go to Kampar, I can hang out with them just one more time, other than "yam cha" of course !




• YCW, as my first ever housemate and bringing craziness and insanity into my Foundation year. Thanks to your friends too, Shi Hooi, Mel Lee, BB Zai, Nemo, Kok Lee, Ah Teng and sort...its been fun to be with you lot.

  
  

  I still remember the test that you lot gave me. Given you 5 colours, red, yellow, green, orange and white, attach a person's name to the colour given without hesitation. The meaning behind the colours are then explained to me, and here's my choice:

SMS-ing for the Whole Day [Offline Blog for 17/2]

There it goes, the (long-waited ?) offline blog series are back again ! Well, most of it is due to the unavailability of me to go blogging online…anyway, dont think about that at the moment, thinking about it makes me a little sad, coz I cant meet Lyn and everyone ! (Sob)

(Eh-hem…)

Yesterday, I just had a very nice chat (through SMS) with one of my FRIENDS. Her name will be hidden as for some of the private stuffs that we both shared through the whole day (if you're clever enough, "her" is actually a tips for you to guess who's that person already).

I shared some of my so known "grown-up" experience to her, and hoping to get some suggestions so that I can deal with it when the time comes. She asked me a lot of stuffs to understand my situation better and later on she actually shared some of her top secrets with me ! Unbelievable true ! So, I know that you’ll be having one too. She chatted strangely after she shares her secrets. For all the time I known her, I never seen her with such a strange emotion before...

"...we all grow up already lar, if we talk about THAT then we grow up lor..." she said, well, wrote in the SMS.

"...both of our situation kinda same, haiz..." she said after she got all the answers she wanted to know from me.

Then, she gave me a very simple solution to my problem. Dont expect the solution and the problems will be written here, since its kinda privacy for me, hehe~~ Thanks for your suggestion ! I hope it'll help me to go through my problem.

The (kinda) long-waited semester break is here, and there's nothing I can do to speed up the time. No games, no online, less TV shows, no Heroes and Tsubasa...the break will be as boring as last time, again (and again)...

Oh "My" Chelle, I wish I could take Inkspell from you too, coz I finished Inkheart too fast ! I hate myself for doing so. As for the rest, I miss ya lot very much ! (>”<)

Outing Twice

FIRST OUTING - With CYC

Received her sms early in the morning. I heard my phone's message tone, thought of some Hotlink messages again. But after I read the message, it was from CYC. We've been contacting each other in Friendster before the Finals start, and we've make a promise that we'll be meeting each other once I'm back to Puchong. And so, I guess this is it !

"Later 2pm accompany me go dental appointment ?" #Abstracted from the message she send to me.#

Well...SURE~
And wait a minute...is this a trap ? Will she suddenly ask me something about that strange message that she's been receiving few weeks ago...which was from SL WITH my knowing about it ?

"Who's Henry ? Har !?" with her angry look she punched my stomach and asked me that.

"Eh...who's Henry ?" replied me, rolling my eyes.

Blah blah blah...so after she told me about the stories of SMS-ing with a stranger, she said that "Henry" exchanged his Friendster profile with her. She spotted my picture on the primary photo of Henry and she doubt that it was me that gave her number to Henry. Well...half true. Another half was actually that SL got it himself.

After her dental appointment, we went to 7-11 for a drink. She bought a pack of teddy biscuits and we both sit there chatted for an hour or so. She's in a school band, how nice is that. I always wanted to be in a band or a choir, music is just so much fun ! And later on end up at her house, transferred some songs to her computer. The original purpose of "giving her TRC manga chapters" was failed coz I forgot to copy the file from my computer to the pendrive. Careless me. Moments later her mom fetch me back home and said bye to her.


SECOND OUTING - With FRIENDS

The word "FRIENDS" are purposely capital-lettered coz I'm referring to that group of friends that we formed ourself. Usually they just called it "the seven of us", and only some of us use the name FRIENDS. Anyway, its Bao HT's birthday yesterday. And around 10pm, Yong WY's car was waiting for me outside my house. And after fetching Lai MC, we're off to somewhere near Bandar Puteri (more accurately, somewhere opposite Tesco Puchong).

Only 5 of us reached the restaurant (cant search for a better word, and my phone rang. Seeing Au YH, Yong YW and Teng WH teasing each other reminds me of my past. There's been a barrier since then...and it never been broken. With the arrival of Bao HT and Lee SX, the barrier strengthen and the same old feeling haunts me once again. I can see that even Lai MC feels the barrier (I guess its weaker compared to mine) and he cant really get himself into their conversation. Craps, thats the stuffs they've been chatting since...

Finally, the opening of the cake ! I requested from Yong WY to have her phone for a while to snap pictures. And I took many pictures of them having fun and sort. I need to have self control or else the memory will full sooner or later, so I stopped the photography session.

After all the funs and laughs, its almost 12am, we're heading back home with either Bao HT or Yong WY's car. Careless Yong WY left her car key inside the car and didnt locked her car door ! Lucky since Bao HT's car was at her car's side. Both of the cars plays chasing moments later after the engine starts. Both the cars almost collide and a motorcyclist might be injured if there's no self control between them. Anyway, back to home safety for all of us.

Yesterday was Bao HT's birthday, and today is my another friend, TYK's birthday. Here to wish both of you two HAPPY BIRTHDAY again.

The "Pyramid" Trip

[ Please note that this post happens after the post "Life After Finals," thank you. ]

For sure, that picture was not taken by me myself, and I'm not inside of the crowded people too.

But whats true are, I'm there skating with my fellow FRIENDS who said wanna go out so suddenly till I didnt have the time to think about it. Since its been half years time I didnt met them, I decided "yes" straight away. And we met each other around 11.30am+, we went to Sunway with Bao HT's car. She drove nicely with some shocking incidents along the way, which scares me a little.

Anyway, arrived Sunway with no harm and we're wondering here and there for about half an hour plus and finally decided to had our lunch at McD. Siao ! Fillet O Fish WITHOUT cheese ? Haiz...fine...just eat it.

And so, we're at the ticketing booth for ice skating. After realizing that my wallet was actually quite empty after going out with fellow TE 4s, SX helped me to pay for the bill. She's been helping me to pay bills since secondary school and I was glad that I'm with her when my wallet becomes really thin. Where're we next ? Heading to the ice for sure !

The first step on the surface of the ice scares me a lot, couldnt believe that its that slippery ! With the aid of the edge of the field, I managed to "walk" for 2 rounds. SX was pretty good on it, seems like she's been skated before. After that, I tried to stay away from the edge and went inner towards the center. Results was remarkable, I'm able to "walk" without help ! Its a good sign and I'm doing so for the next few rounds.

Unfortunately (there's always be an unfortunate event), I fell down for the first time ! "I wanna fell down too ! It means that I've been skated before !" shout out loud Bao HT when I told her. And soon, Au YH fell down right in front of me with her friend ! Her new-college-friend helped to get her up but then her friend fell down for the second time ! Au YH got a cut on her elbow and with the aid of her friend, she's going back and rest at the entrance.

After a few more rounds of "walking", I found myself on the floor again. And sooner after that, I heard a high pitch sound and I recognized it as Bao HT. She's on the floor and she actually looks happy with it. SX, which accompanying her looks embarrassing and get her up.

3 hours of skating = 3 hours of fun

We end up buying some of the crispy rolls and going back home with Bao HT's driving skill. How's the day ? Fun Fun and FUN !

Thinking of Countdown...

Well...never been to countdown before.
As the first time ever I may had the chance to go countdown with FRIENDS this year, they didnt really have the mood to go countdown.

"How's the discussion about our trip ?"
"I'll let you know tomorrow."

What to do ? Wait for their respond lor. Actually there's another thing I can do, DONT GO at all. This is not the first time that the trip was canceled, there's been many trips been canceled in the past. Eh...cant remember all, but at least I know 1 or 2 of them. I spend my time thinking of hanging out with them for the trips that they organized, but then at last they said "sorry, too little people going, so its canceled." Just like that day, they SMS me telling me that we're going 1U, and I can go back Puchong since they're driving and it sounds like a good plan for me. On that day afternoon (its a Friday, I still remember it, the memories are coming back !) when my fellow TE 4's are thinking of going Mid Valley, they told me that the trip to 1U canceled.

ZZZ...
Fine, so I'm going with my fellow TE 4s to Mid Valley.

I'm now back at Puchong, didnt really got the mood to go out countdown with them already. And its almost raining now, my granny sure wouldnt let me go out at this moment. Thunder strikes ! ! hour ago its still bright and shine ! Not fair, its been raining since last 2 weeks.

"Its raining !"
"NO, Rannie is here, he's not outside," said Ms T during chemistry practical.

She really brings me into her world full of particles and bondings...I really hope to have a consultation hour with her. Guess I should send her an e-mail and see of I can have consultation with her. Time to go, thunder + lightning is approaching !!! @.@
