回顾 2014

是的我知道这篇文写得有点迟了，但是你没听说过“迟到好过没有到”吗？*明明就在找借口*

话说，2014 年我自己本身有很大的突破：年头换了一份新工作，第一次搭飞机，也终于有时间做自己喜欢的东西。废话不多说，直接看照片回顾吧~~

#《一路有你》这部本地制作的电影算不错了。里面有很多我们马来西亚的风土人情和文化，而且故事也编得很好，进场看戏的人都会被感动到。大马新一代歌手颜慧萍的歌声也很有吸引力，因此我也支持下下买了原声带回来，因为我婆婆也喜欢她的歌。#

#今年情人节和朋友俩度过。我还记得我们在 Sakae Sushi 吃东西，这盘寿司好像是 Mango Soft Shell Crab Maki  之类的。#

#四月公司 annual dinner 在沙巴总部，我们在 KL 工作的必须飞去那里参加。如果来回机票不是公司出的我想我都不会去啊！第一次坐飞机的经历其实不会很恐怖，只是 take off 和 landing 的时候会怕怕罢了。我和另外三个同事也趁机会拿多几天假期在沙巴旅行，我身后的那座就是沙巴著名的神山 Mt. Kinabalu 啦~#

#这个小可爱是有个人买麦当当吃送给我的，看到它就会不由自主地笑起来。#

#六月中人生第二次搭飞机，也是人生中第二次出国与朋友来到了台湾这个热情的国家。小吃多，人礼貌，风景美，交通又方便... 第一次旅行的朋友来到这里真的不会失踪不会迷路，因为这里的人一定会把你带到你要去的地方，而且还会介绍你什么地方有什么东西玩，什么东西吃。他妈的我真的舍不得离开啊~~#

#第一次很舍得花钱去看超水准的交响音乐会。试问人生有几个机会可以在马来西亚看 Distant Worlds 啊？目前你们错过了两个哦！自从初中一开始接触 Final Fantasy VII 过后就开始迷了这系列。Final Fantasy 独特的就是它的故事情节，角色之间的互动，优美的音乐和不断创新追求完美逼真的画风。我很努力告诉自己不能流泪，结果当音乐前奏响起时眼泪已经在翻滚了。那种感动我无法用语言形容... 现场听演奏出来熟悉的音乐真的感觉很梦幻，我怎么也想不到三个小时就这么过了！#

#同事们都说有个马来当口卖的 nasi kukus 很好吃，结果最后自己也尝试到了传说中美味的 nasi kukus！它果然名不虚传啊~~~#

#网上认识了一个朋友，有段时间经常到他家打电动煮饭游泳。也因为经常游泳的关系，原本不怎么会游泳的都被他教会了一些些。我开始想念你家的泳池了啊~~#

#被嘲笑这是个不搭配的晚餐：干捞榨菜猪肉碎米粉 + 马铃薯泥。我吃得开心就好啊... 其实味道也不会很难吃啊...#

#自从买了个电脑后会开始迷惑不知道要玩什么游戏，因为想玩的游戏太多，但是时间不够啊！！！#

#讨厌... 最讨厌做 OT 然后看到这个画面。总觉得空荡的走廊背后有个黑影在跟随着我... 不就是自己的影子吗？#

#刚过不久的十二月再次坐飞机去了 Langkawi 这个免税岛。你看过 menu 里面啤酒是比果汁便宜的吗？这岛说小不小，说大不大，但它还真的有很多很漂亮的海滩和岛屿。回家前买了一大堆的巧克力和几瓶 apple cider... 如果要用四个字形容，那一定是“满载而归”。#

Eyes on Me

昨天终于把 Final Fantasy VIII 破完了,感觉就像读完了一本小说。故事里的主角都是很平凡的学生们,为了拯救世界被毁灭而踏上了一段不平凡的旅程。六位主角也从开始的陌生,孤独,寂寞,害羞,冷酷,无情,争狠,吵架变成了关心,开朗,乐观,相依,相爱,照顾,保护和爱护。最后大家都齐心的把女巫给打败,把世界时间还原。

FF VIII 最吸引我的除了王菲演唱的主题曲《Eyes on Me》以外就是男主角 Squall 和女主角 Riona 的爱情故事了,当然也不忘了搞笑的 Laguna 和 Raine 悲伤的故事啦。话说,《Eyes on Me》是史上第一首演唱的 Final Fantasy 主题曲。也就从 FF VIII 开始每一部都有它们自己的主题曲了。

#两人第一次相遇就跳舞了。#

两位主人翁都教了大家,自己的幸福爱情是要自己争取回来的,不要等到失去了才来后悔,因为过去式的东西只能回味,不能改变过去已经发生了的事实,要珍惜当下,放眼未来,活得精彩。

幸福的爱情其实很简单,但是即简单又复杂。也许爱情就是要经过考研才能磨练出两个相爱的人吧 ... 现在要等 FF X/X-2 HD Remastered 了。期待期待~~~

Left 4 Dead 2 with COU Mates !!!

Extending isnt as fun as it seems, but thanks to COU and my part time job, at least I can spend most of my "free time" leisure time on them. Been practicing my flute and (going to) percussion skills for the past 2 weeks as we're going to have our very own 3rd concert !!! With more experienced new members joining in, this concert is going to be so much fun !

And yeah, the already-past Monday was our Mr. Harley's birthday. Like usual, the conductor prepared a birthday cake at the end of the ensemble practice and everybody wished him a joyful birthday. Somehow I dunno why, I slipped my mouth saying "L4D2" during some of the conversation, and the next thing I know is: I saw a few blinking pairs of eyes looking at me.

The next thing I know was, 4 of us went to Khakabo for a L4D2 game.

A normal No Mercy campaign seems to be very hard for the 4 of us, partially because we enabled cheat. So throughout the campaign I'm the only one spamming pain killer and first aid kit for the rest of the group and giving health to myself in the worse condition. 

Since this is the SECOND TIME IN HIS LIFE that our cute conductor entered a cyber cafe and his VERY FIRST TIME playing L4D2, we're considerate enough to guide him through all the basics he must know before he sets his foot into the warzone. I guess the best thing that I've taught him was "heal yourself with first aid and pain killer" and "slash zombies with your katana". 

At the end of the campaign, our conductor claimed that he wanted to vomit when he saw one of the zombie (Boomer to be precise) vomited on him. Oh well... though we both died in the game, but I hope that we can have another round again some day.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for DS Review

I came across this game when I'm a bit bored of the games I had in my NDS. I never expect for the download to complete despite of my lousy connection... but hey, since I managed to download it, of course I'll try it out !

Well, the game starts with a ...

#... basically this is the first thing you'll see when you start the game.#

Story:

Yes, the story of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective by Capcom starts with a death, YOUR death to be precise. You found yourself dead and a redheaded girl shot dead by an assassin. Weirdest thing happened when a red desk lamp named Ray started to talk to you about how special you are as a spirit with powers. The red desk lamp guided you to use your power of the dead to possess and manipulate inanimate objects, travel through telephone lines and advert the fate of the dead by rewinding to 4 minutes before that person's death. 

#Possessing items to travel around the map. While you're in the Ghost World, the time stopped and when you're back in the real world, the time flows again and you can perform a trick on the item that you currently possessed.#

#When this appears, you gotta act quick to save the dead before the timer runs out.#

#Selecting destination by travelling through telephone lines !#

An important note that the red desk lamp said is: you have one night before dawn to discover the truth behind your death and recover your lost memories about yourself.

In the progress of the game, you realized your name is Sissel, a yellow-banana-headed guy with cool shades and red coat. You partnered with the redheaded girl (who turns out to be a rookie detective looking on to a closed case dated back to 5 years ago) Lynne to solve both the case and your own mystery.

Review:

If you think that this game is all about solving crimes and saving the dead by rewinding 4 minutes before their death, then you're terribly wrong. The whole game is about discovering the truth of the closed case 5 years ago, the mistake that takes place 10 years ago and the mystery identity of the main character itself. 

Detective games are not my specialty, but the plot twist for this game was developed very carefully so that you're going to discover mysteries by solving another mystery. The ending of the game is really unexpected, but I could say that it is a happy ending. 

The gameplay is awesome. Sometimes the game might makes you scratch your head hard just to move from a location to another location because of the distance limit you can travel. And by making use of all the objects that could be animated and the sequence you animate them, you can create a new path to travel or even change the fate of the dead. 

Although the game environments are 2D, but the characters are moving in quite a 3D fashion. To tell the truth, the game has a smooth animation, which I liked it a lot. Just take a look at this picture to see it for yourself.

#By the way, this is Detective Cabanela, a weird detective that secretly investigating on a case dated back to 10 years ago.#

The game has been released for the iOS few days ago, check the iOS trailer for the game below !

If you allow me to choose, I would like this trailer more as it contains a lot of memorable quotes by the characters.

I rate this game 8 our of 10, since it still can improve by adding 3D animated cutscenes in the game. I dont think there'll be a Ghost Trick 2, but if that really comes out, I hope to see a few crossovers between the characters.

Recent Updates

Its been weeks since my last update... let me list down what I've been through in those days:

- Having big problems with the Internet connection lately, there is no doubt that someone is manipulating the connection or heavily downloading/streaming movies. I hate it everytime when I wanna use it for assignment/report, it get sucks. Feels like smashing the modem so the whole house couldnt go online. *Rawr~~~~~*

- You might noticed it already, UTAR COU just had their second concert last month, coverage of the concert can be found here. We also had a celebration dinner 2 weeks afterwards with a concert DVD given to those who're attending as a mystery appreciation gift. I received a copy myself but couldnt watch it using my old laptop. *Sob sob* Anyway, I had a nice meal on that day, and I filled my stomach till it almost exploded !

#We just couldnt stop ourselves from taking pictures on that day... even with our hoods on ! And yes, there's 1 more hidden Mickey here too.#

- Lectures are as boring as ever... but it is a different story for FYP ! Seeing my apple samples are giving positive results for the antioxidant assays I did on them motivates me to continue on. The only problem I encounter is time and amount of solvent left. Hope that I can finish everything soon.

- Oh yes... I did quite some cooking with Rannie-chan and Freezie-chan as well ! We cooked ourselves dinner a week before semester starts and constantly having a cooking session once every 2 weeks on glutinous rice ball dessert, fried bread and sushi.

#This is one-of-a-hell big piece of maki filled with cucumber, carrot, tuna spread, crab stick and sausage.#

- Working seems like enjoying lately, though we still need to be serious when the big bosses are around it is busy time. Me and Harley-san celebrated our beloved colleague's birthday last Saturday with a chocolate cake. Announcement: December monthly promotion coupons are coming real soon !!! 

#Obsessed in working until taking picture with the cake AND the tray. LOL~#

#Oh yeah... making leaf-shaped wasabi is my specialty now since almost everyone is afraid of the smell. Credits to Harley-san for the picture.#

Happy National Day Malaysia !!!

Yesterday was Malaysia's national day, and I remembered that few years back while I'm still addicted to MapleSEA, all the players greet each other and jumping around with the event exclusive Malaysia/Singapore flag weapon. Its been so long now, I'm still keeping it in my inventory as a memory of the happy times while I'm Mapling with my friends.

Well... national day doesnt seems to be any meaningful again ever since  graduating from secondary school. I still remember that our school will be having a big celebration with speech, drama, music, choir, performance, dance and competition that last for the whole August. 

Since the whole Kampar is in the study mood now as the final exams are drawing near as Raya holidays approaches, everywhere I look seems to be quiet and empty. 

I guess I'll need to go and have a quick Pokemon game study before I take my nap now.

Listening to this piece reminds me of playing my first ever Square Enix games: Final Fantasy VII. This song always played when I entered a certain town in the very beginning of the game. Below is the original version from the game's soundtrack. A great thanks to Nobuo Uematsu-sama for composing this piece.





I wish I could play back this awesome game again, for its nicely planned plot twist and beautifully arranged soundtracks.


To be honest, Square Enix was once my dream working place just because of their beautiful gaming graphics and soundtracks. Lol~~~

Random Update !

Finals is coming real near and I'm still slacking around like a parasite. Things has been going on and on these few weeks, here's some updates:

- Finally went to practice Dizi at Sensei's house... on a rainy day !
- On the same day after the practice, I helped my housemate change the car tyre... in the rain with an umbrella.
- Few days later, its Weng Siu's turn to change his car tyre !!!
- Had burgers as breakfast, lunch and dinner for 2-3 consecutive days.
- Just finished MUET exams lsat Saturday. (What a relief !)
- Scared my life out of my brain after watching trailers of NDS game "Dementium", a first-person-shooter survival horror.
- Twice I saw Rannie-chan while I was having lok-lok with my friend.
- Twice I left my bike at campus, and twice I walked to lecture class through KTAR with short pants.
- Happily washed my clothes, hanged outside, and collected them back when its about to rain.
- Influenced my friends to bought the special offer "buy 1 free 1" fruit juice from the convenient store.

And the best of them all... I got another recording of myself playing Dizi !!! Here it goes, Theme of Love from Final Fantasy IV DS.



The quality isnt that good, but its the best I could do. I'm here dedicating this song to Polly Chong and Cammie Tang, whom I met them during my industrial training, to wish them a happy belated birthday. Hope you all enjoy then.

吉隆坡中华校友会华乐团《八千里路云和月》扬琴与华乐音乐会 + 零碎的回忆

刚开始被叫到去看这个演奏会时，心里其实在想着：不要看扬琴可以吗？但是看了演奏会后发觉到，其实扬琴独奏也很精彩。

演奏会当天是 3 月 5 日星期六，在 PJ Galaxy Hall。还没去演奏会前我已经 Google Map 了那个地方，看起来还蛮近 UTAR PJ 的，所以就一口气答应了。

那天七早八早就爬起身收拾书包准备与朋友到巴士站下 KL shopping。到 KL 了就去走走买东西、吃东西、看东西。我们走到 Times Square 里的“欢喜地茶餐厅”吃午饭。我 order 了猪肉片饭套餐和一碗牛奶红豆薏米。我们也叫了一个皮萨一起品尝。

#近距离看一看！它的酱汁很香，配饭很好吃！#

吃饱饱后我们就跑到 Low Yat 去看电话，电脑包包，掌上游戏机和滑鼠。我自己本身是想要买个 NDS 或是 PSP 很久了，既然来到了就顺便看看价钱咯。走了不久后发现价钱还算可以接受，便买下了一个 NDS。挑颜色时真的很费时，因为怕挑到个不适合自己或是太小孩子的颜色。经过多番考虑，终于选了黑色来配我的 Sony MP3，电脑和手机。

#打开来看一下！除了 A B X Y、Start、Select 和上下左右键，还有 L R 键在左右上角和一个麦克风在中间。#

我上网查到说 NDS 其实还可以用来上网的。不是开玩笑的上网哦，是真的可以开 Google 上网的。当然 Flash 和 Java 之类的时开不到啦，它只是能 support 文字和图片而已。可惜我缺少一些东西，要不然我也可以用它来上网了。

与我朋友告别后，傍晚时分我自己一个人冒着雨回到熟悉的 PJ Section 17。自己的双脚很自然的就带着我走到 Happy Mansion 那里等我另一个朋友。那时我发现，其实撑着伞在雨中漫步看风景回忆以前所发生过的点点滴滴，也是一种乐趣。在肥佬丝（好意记）那里吃了晚饭后就走到 Jaya One 那里搭的士去看演奏会。

经过 Jaya One 对面那堆草场时，我一时兴起便跳到草场找一些只有在那里才有的东西。


“在找什么？”朋友问到。

当我找到我要的东西时，我很兴奋。。。很久没有看到那么漂亮的相思豆了。

“我找到的，送给你。”我说。

“才不要。”他忙着过马路地回答。

“你不要没关系，我可以送给别人。”我心想。

过后找到辆的士在我们到 Galaxy Hall 去，找了半天才找到那个有点偏僻的地点。进场后就给那个演奏会礼堂炸到，因为礼堂小得可怜，而且座位也应该不超过 200。无论如何，演奏的曲子都很精彩，尤其是《春节序曲》，《俄罗斯组曲》，《查尔达斯舞曲》和《八千里路云和月》。

演奏会完毕后便随我干哥哥回到他家过夜，隔天才搭火车回金宝。有一段时间没见他了，听他说下个月就去韩国旅行，我很快的跟他要了些韩国的糖果与零食。哈哈~~~


搭着回家的火车，心里想着：我又回来啦，金宝。

1. Emo 的我又回来了。
2. 小时候第一个玩的电动游戏是 Sonic the Hedgehog 。
3. 小时候玩抓抓不小心抱到学姐的腰，脸红了。
4. 同一个学姐也曾经在我被欺负时来救我，谢谢你。
5. 每当被问起父母时，我会犹豫一两秒。。。
6. 。。。如果想不到回答的方式，我会选择不答并转话题。
7. 不会轻易对陌生人交谈。
8. 在我记忆里，曾与 3 个不同的人一起洗澡。当然，他们都是男的。
9. 我已经等不及要回金宝了。
10. 习惯了靠左边睡，因为曾经一时我会在左边看见。。。
11. 自从那天起，想哭的我已经哭不出眼泪来了。
12. 如果能把时间倒转，我会选择回到 2010 年我生日那天。
13. 曾经试过做 assignment 做到早上 8 点然后就睡到傍晚才起床。
14. 也试过到 CC 打机打到半夜 4 点才回家睡觉，但是我并没打超过 5 个小时。
15. 开始想学吉他。。。或许应该从中阮开始吧？

Everlasting ? [Offline Blog for 18/11]

Thats the first thing I thought of while thinking of a title for the day. Doesnt matter what it suppose to meant in the end... Anyway, I've noticed that I've updated my blog less frequent than last month, so I'm here, updating my blog.

Been practicing DiZi not very often these few weeks. Other than practicing the music sheets given by the teacher, I've also found my own sheets such as some songs from the Final Fantasy series. And today I downloaded some other sheets: Canon in D and Wish from S.E.N.S.. Translated half of them and tried to play it on my own not long ago, it sounds right and beautiful, but I'm not familiar with both of the songs, so I'm not sure how should the tempo be...

Other than practicing DiZi, I also found that one of the interns from USCI actually plays CO instruments too ! She said she's been learning GuZheng since Form 2, but she never joins any performance before. More over, USCI doesnt have any CO club, her CO future is very limited. I hope that next time when we UTAR is having our own performance again, she can come to Kampar and watch it...

So much to tell, so much to say... but, I just dont feel like writing it out here.

Theme of Love

Been addicted to one of the Final Fantasy IV's soundtrack lately, and the name is "Theme of Love". This is a piece that touches the hearts of many, and of course, it touches mine as well. I've found several versions on Youtube, and I'll post them all here.

Each and every version of the same piece of music are performed beautifully, especially the orchestral version. The thing I admire the most is the cello and flute.

I never knew there's a version with vocals until I found Tsuki no Akari... And if you asked me which one I prefer the most, of course the original piece from the DS.

Since I'm sooooo into this song, I've found some flute music score of the piece and translated it into the Chinese Orchestral version. I tried performing it myself on DiZi and it sounds perfect. Should practice more so I could sharpen my skills, since the song is quite tricky to perform in DiZi. Haha~

Holiday: STARTS !!!

Its always been nice to know that after all the hard work you paid during the exam period is gonna be paid back with relaxation, fun and excitement as the holiday starts !

Well, to celebrate this holiday, I just updated our Chinese Orchestra blog with a small notice. You can find the link posted on the right-hand-side or click HERE to visit the main page. Gonna be missing the whole blogging, Facebook-ing, MSN-ing, YouTube-ing, downloading and reading people's blog as I'm not be able to access to Internet during my Internship period.

So anyway, its holiday !!! And Tweety-chan invited me to have some fun with them on the night of my final exam day. So after my final paper, we had lunch together and discussed about what to do on that night ...

... and the next thing we thought of is: Monopoly !!! Shocking news is that, the Monopoly that Scotty bought was still new and boxed !

#And hence the game starts with 3 of us and one of her friend. And she's the first to pass go and collected $200 from the banker !!!#

#Then I landed on the Community Chest, and invited Scotty to shuffle the cards before I pick one...#

#... and I picked up a "Go to Jail" card, becoming the first player who go to jail for the game.#

#As the game proceeds, all of us end up being thrown into the jail except Tweety. And by chance, she landed on the same space too, but she's "just visiting" us.#

#After having 2 whole hours of laughing and shouting, its 2am and we cooked ourself Tong Yun in various soup ! Top to bottom: Shine Mango Yogurt juice, lo hon go soup and honeydew juice.#

Never thought of getting all these weird soup-base for the Tong Yun, but it end up quite tasty ! Just after we finished having the dessert, we decided to stop the game and see who's the big winner.

I went back home around 3am and directly went to bed. Its tiring, but its fun ! Its been long since I had so much fun with them already. Haha~ Gonna miss it and, see you two after our Internship !
