回到那遥远的地方

一个月前计划好的旅程终于在昨天结束了。很幸运的还有认识的朋友在金宝，要不然我回去就没有什么意思了。

#要搭巴士到 KL Central 的时候发现彩虹！#

#已经有好几百年没有搭 ETS 上金宝咯...#

到金宝的时候都已经晚上十点多了，还好还有华乐团的朋友来到火车站载我们回西湖。过后就和已经约好了多几个人在 McD 聊天到早上四点。还能够见到熟悉的面孔当然很开心啊~

“Spiky 每次见你的时候你怎么好像一次比一次帅厚？”其中一位熟悉的面孔说到。

虽然脸上没有表露什么表情，但是心里面已经暗爽到飞天啦~ 其实自己以前都没什么打扮，当然没有比现在好看很多啊。

隔天早上剪了头毛后就与旬香兼 JCC (Japanese Cultural Club) 的朋友们七个人一起下怡保吃透透。下午三点就在 Euro House 打卡喝酒吃他们店里最好吃的 lamb chop 了。这里的环境依旧没有改变，除了 XBOX 360，桌球和唱 K 房，这里还多了飞镖给顾客做消遣。

#Euro House 必点的小吃：lamb chop。够入味，肉香嫩，质感 Q... 没有什么比这个东西更好吃的了。#

#其他小吃的分量也不少哦！就连摆在碟上的沙拉也很好吃！#

吃完小吃喝完酒的我们第二回合就在咖啡店 Coffee Tag 打卡。那里的环境算不错，他们独创的咖啡 Naughty 是必点的饮品之一。它融合了 espresso + 牛奶 和大家都喜爱的 Nutella 巧克力。我自己则点了比较普遍的 Green Tea Latte，绿茶和咖啡的味道拿捏得刚刚好，如果当时有配上一片 Apple Crumble Cake 就完美了！

#白开水是任加的，这里还有很多甜点和蛋糕，每天都不一样哦~#

最后晚餐就在 MichaelAngelo，一间老外开的皮萨店里解决了。这间店经常爆满，需要些时间等候座位。老板为人幽默风趣，服务员的服务态度也是非常亲切的。听闻除了他们的皮萨一级棒以外，意大利面也是非常好吃的。喜欢饭后甜品的也可以尝试他们自做的起司蛋糕，brownies 和 tiramisu。

#Eggs and Bacon 和 Bacon and Cheese... 你不会相信你的眼睛所看到的，它的 bacon 到底有多厚啊！#

吃完晚餐还有第四回合哦！到底要吃到几点啊？

第四回合我们跑到了怡保糖水街吃宵夜... 不是才刚刚吃了晚餐吗？忘记了是第三十几档的牛腩面非常美味！它的汤有淡淡的药材味，牛肉也很软可以称得上“入口即化”。来到这里当然也要尝试他们的西米露啦~

驾车回到金宝的时候都快半夜两点了，没想到我还可以跟华乐团的朋友喝茶到五点。隔天两点下午又见面去唱六个小时 K... 太久没有和一班人那么疯狂唱 K 了，临走前感觉自己还处于在慢热的状态啊~~ 晚上在旬香朋友家吃住家饭，一起看动漫打电动。

隔天早上睡到很迟才甘愿爬起身。和临时室友出外吃午餐走超市喝下午茶吃晚餐。晚上跑回去大学里面在华乐团合奏练习的时候捣蛋。看见大家正在练习的曲子都是超水准的时候突然有感：虽然自己不是创团团员之一，但是还是可以感觉得到乐团真的有在长大，心里还是很开心。没有练过的曲子怎么一开始就可以合奏呢？毕竟自己的笛子技术也生锈了，惟有骗着奏到练习完毕为止。哈哈哈~~ 晚上在网吧里和旬香朋友一起打电动。虽然好久没有一起打电动了，但是默契还是在的。

回 KL 的那天吃午餐的时候心情很重，我承认我在金宝的这几天里面的却过得很开心，很多烦恼也抛得九霄云外去了。朋友们都说：下次来的时候记得来找我们... 但是“下次”我不知道还可不可以见到那么多人了。

这几天的旅程我还算满意啦，可以见到很多熟悉的人聊聊天，可以吃到好多好多的美食，也认识了几个新朋友... 我能说的东西就是：I'm satisfied with my care。谢谢大家这几天来对我的照顾，我会很想念你们的~~

《享·乐》：拉大华乐团音乐会第三弹！

回想起来，音乐会结束还没到一个星期，自己已经开始想念大家一起合奏的感觉了。这种很“空虚”很“寂寞”的 feeling 很不好受啊~~~~~

管它是曲笛、小钹、碰铃、木鱼、铃鼓/钱鼓... 能够参与大组合奏真的不是一件容易的事啊！虽然自己演奏的东西都很微小，偶尔出错了几乎都没有被发现到，但是自己还是会尽量配合大家，把自己的东西多加练习。很感谢当年的指挥把嫩嫩的我们丢上了小组合奏，过后再推我们上大组，让我们见识了许许多多的风与雨。

#当晚可爱的司仪~~~#

这次很幸运的被敲击师傅选中参与敲击乐合奏《老虎磨牙》的练习，她还把我认为最重要的木鱼交了给我。《老虎磨牙》是一首在描述深山里老虎出没、吼叫声、以及奔向猎物后正在磨牙的情况。整首曲子一开始就是木鱼了，木鱼还要很生动地模仿水滴声，这还真的难倒了我啊！但是我从师傅那里得回来的 feedback 是：打得还不错啊，比之前好很多，很有 feeling 啊！都说要放松来打的啦~~~

看到乐团的那个木鱼就可怜了：螺丝锁不紧了结果差不多全部木鱼要掉下来了。还好有我们Potato 的爸爸把木鱼钉在一个新的木板，再钉了一个架子专放木鱼。看到那个漂亮的木鱼架顿时觉得 Potato 爸爸好伟大哦。过后他也钉了一个架放云罗和弄了一个叫拍板的乐器（其实只是两片大约 1 cm 厚的木板而已）给《老虎磨牙》合奏用的。 I was like ... OMG~~ 他真的是太伟大了！

#这就是那个帅哥漂亮的木鱼架啦~~~#

#敲击乐伴奏 Potato 的琵琶独奏《龙船》。我负责打碰铃，那个很可爱的乐器。#

拿到脱胎换骨的木鱼后就开始练习咯，但是我的手腕功不好，打出来的声音都不理想。

“做末你打木鱼不大声的？放轻松来打它，看我打：声音要柔，但是不要小声，也不用太大力去打它。”

练习就这样开始了。慢慢的练着木鱼当儿还要练笛子的曲子，偶尔还乱了一下不知道应该练那一个先才好。

“用这把笛子，你的笛子吹不大声，这把会好一点。大大力吹它，不用怕它的。你吹的时候太小心了，所以吹到很小声。”

结果那把白色的 C 调曲笛就这样被我借去用了。除了每个星期一合奏练习，星期四还要去笛子练习，再加上平时的上班时间，整个人都快要疯掉了。心想：这次将会是我最后一次上大组合奏叻，怎样辛苦都要去练习，尽量把自己的本分做好。

最后最后，最没有想到的东西是：自己竟然可以合奏《节庆欢舞》！平时都是开着 MP3 听而已，想都没想到自己有机会奏这首曲子的啊！！！续去年增加了鼓段、敲击组改编的《金蛇狂舞》后，这次也演奏了有鼓段的《节庆欢舞》啦~ 

最后当然也很开心看到我的 housemate 跟她男朋友回来乐团啦。他们特地请假来参加练习和音乐会，他们的功劳不算小哦。还有见到这个人后差点掉眼泪的 Sensei 啦！就是不知道为什么，见到她后自己的眼泪真的要掉下来了，可能是太想念大家一起度过四年大学的关系吧。

我：... 

他：那个什么老虎啊，在中间打鼓那个女的，很好笑咯... 打到一半再那个鼓上面不懂做什么。哈哈哈~~~~

我：那个是“老虎出来聊，老虎的脚步声”来的啦！

他：... 哈哈哈~~~ 那个手“啪啪啪”打那个鼓的样子很好笑，哈哈哈~~~~

我：...

他：还有啊，那个琵琶都不好听的。

我：我只是知道它曲子旋律有点乱，一下子很热闹，一下子又很柔很慢的。

他：有一个人啊，站在中间不懂做末的，什么都没有做，偶尔才拿个东西在那边“叮叮叮”很白痴叻...

我：... 那个人是我来的好吗。

他：哦？哦？... 是咩？没有戴眼镜啦，看不清楚啦...

我：...

Recent Updates

Its been weeks since my last update... let me list down what I've been through in those days:

- Having big problems with the Internet connection lately, there is no doubt that someone is manipulating the connection or heavily downloading/streaming movies. I hate it everytime when I wanna use it for assignment/report, it get sucks. Feels like smashing the modem so the whole house couldnt go online. *Rawr~~~~~*

- You might noticed it already, UTAR COU just had their second concert last month, coverage of the concert can be found here. We also had a celebration dinner 2 weeks afterwards with a concert DVD given to those who're attending as a mystery appreciation gift. I received a copy myself but couldnt watch it using my old laptop. *Sob sob* Anyway, I had a nice meal on that day, and I filled my stomach till it almost exploded !

#Celebration dinner at Grand Kampar Hotel Chinese Restaurant. Can you spot 2 hidden Mickey ?#

#Seriously... the cloth used to decorate the pillar was comfortable when hugged. Lol~#

#What is a celebration dinner without a big group photo ?#

#We just couldnt stop ourselves from taking pictures on that day... even with our hoods on ! And yes, there's 1 more hidden Mickey here too.#

- Lectures are as boring as ever... but it is a different story for FYP ! Seeing my apple samples are giving positive results for the antioxidant assays I did on them motivates me to continue on. The only problem I encounter is time and amount of solvent left. Hope that I can finish everything soon.

- Oh yes... I did quite some cooking with Rannie-chan and Freezie-chan as well ! We cooked ourselves dinner a week before semester starts and constantly having a cooking session once every 2 weeks on glutinous rice ball dessert, fried bread and sushi.

#This is one-of-a-hell big piece of maki filled with cucumber, carrot, tuna spread, crab stick and sausage.#

- Working seems like enjoying lately, though we still need to be serious when the big bosses are around it is busy time. Me and Harley-san celebrated our beloved colleague's birthday last Saturday with a chocolate cake. Announcement: December monthly promotion coupons are coming real soon !!! 

#Obsessed in working until taking picture with the cake AND the tray. LOL~#

#Oh yeah... making leaf-shaped wasabi is my specialty now since almost everyone is afraid of the smell. Credits to Harley-san for the picture.#

I guess thats all of it unless you wanna count "course registration sucks with turtle-slow connection" and "NDS game Professor Layton series are addicting". Here's a lovely and relaxing song I found today by Hebe of Taiwanese female pop artist S.H.E. to end this post. Enjoy~

金宝拉曼大学华乐团荣誉呈献第二届演奏会：《旋萦之夜》

筹备了好久的演奏会终于在昨天顺利的举办了！虽然自己不是筹委员之一，但是也可以感受得到他们的泪水汗水是没有白白奉献出来的。

这次的演奏会比去年多了些独奏的曲子：柳琴独奏《冬猎》、琵琶独奏《天山之春》、古筝独奏《临安遗恨》和唢呐独奏《山村来了售货员》。个别乐器也演奏了许多的曲子：笛子重奏《八月桂花遍地开》、二胡齐奏《美国往事随想曲》及丝弦五重奏《彩云追月》。

除此之外合奏的曲子也很丰富：《玻利维亚舞曲》、《达姆达姆》、《旱天雷》、《凤阳花鼓》、《小曲联奏：千王之王、铁血丹心和上海滩》、《金蛇狂舞》及 encore 曲子《男儿当自强》。其中《金蛇狂舞》这首曲子敲击组还特别配合指挥的要求用了几个晚上编写了新的敲击谱，可以说那首曲子是唯独我们拉大华乐团的。

当晚另一个特别节目是小组合奏女子十二乐坊的《奇迹》。如果不是音响系统管理的不好，这首曲子将会是上半场最精彩的节目了！而下半场的重头戏是古筝独奏《临安遗恨》和《金蛇狂舞》。

这场演奏会不但带来了许多热爱华乐的学生，也吸引了阿公阿嫲们来观赏。许多媒体和摄影师也前来观赏这次的演奏会，整个演奏会只看见他们很用心的、不顾一切的为我们拍照。其中一位媒体还跑到我们敲击组后面站着椅子就是为了拍下我们指挥帅气的面孔。

多数看过我们上届演奏会的都说这届比较精彩，也说有进步了；也有些前华乐团的人说我们有些错误和走音的地方，显示到他们都很用心在听整场演奏。听说很多人都喜欢古筝独奏的曲子，可能是因为有钢琴伴奏，显示到整个曲子很特别吧？

Cat, Ribbons and Song

Everytime when there's ensemble practice, I'll found the same cat lurking around listening to our ensemble and plays with us. She's cute, quiet and doesnt afraid of humans unlike her siblings which jumps away whenever I approaches them.


I arrived early yesterday evening and I start my practice from the basics.  Moments later I saw her coming near my feet and she brushed herself on my feet. Her fur was soft, honestly, so the feeling was quite comfortable, haha~ Then she jumped on to the chair next to me and sat there staring at me. "I dont have any food for you, so sorry," I told her. She seems to understand it, but still sitting there listening to the songs I played.

They say she might be pregnant since she's having quite a big stomach. Talking about pregnancy, the First Aid Society organized quite a huge event this week around Block D and E, focusing on the HIV and AIDS prevention, awareness of personal health and first aid knowledge. I got some free gifts from their booth which I've been wanted for so long since last week.

#Ribbons !!!#

Yeah, it might sound silly... since almost everyone that I knew got it but not me, it gives me the urge to get one for my bag too. And how lucky am I to get one from Sensei (since she already got one and she's receiving another again) that she pasted on my bag. 

#There it goes the Red Ribbon and my Soul Eater, Riku's Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts.#

And by the way, we're receiving quite a lot of small gifts along the booths set up around Block D and E. Here're some of the bookmark design that I got from them.

#There's more design of the bookmarks given out, and the most funny design is the condom-shaped ones !#

Talking about condom, they're having a photo-shooting session with a Condom mascot which cost RM 2, and they claim that the money they collected will be donated to the charity. 

Then Rannie-chan tells us a joke: what do you call a person wearing a condom mascot costume ? A penis !!! But if the question was "What is the name of the person wearing a condom mascot costume", the answer could be Dick, Dicky or Dickson !!!

And lastly, I realized that they played a song that I liked very much but havent got it in my MP3 yet. Two is Better Than One, performed by Boys Like Girls featuring Taylor Swift. Too bad that Taylor isnt in the MV, but its still a great song though. 

And yes... I do believe that two is really better than one, and I really cant live without you. =)

FYP

Finally, I got my Final Year Project's (FYP) title already. The title was actually my last choice out of the 6 titles I chosen... anyway, I'm still glad that I'm able to work on the title that I choose, although I'm not very excellent on Chemistry-based subjects. The title that I got is about antioxidant properties of edible fruits/herbs/gingers. Antioxidant... interesting huh ???


Been to library yesterday after class to search for some information, text books and thesis written by the seniors on the title. I flipped through those thick thesis related to my title and got a shock of my life: most of their supervisor were Dr. Lim Yang Mooi !!! I remembered her talking about cancer prevention during a sharing session in the 4th GBHEF (check back here for some details on whats happening during the event) with Yen Yee as the emcee for that session.

Most of the thesis that I read through seems to be quite difficult to understand, especially the method used to conduct the experiment and collecting data/results. After throwing away those thesis, I looked for relevant text books/reference books for similar information.

The first thing I noticed was... damn, where the heck are the books that I needed !? Every book that I looked through doesnt seems to be useful enough for me. But in the end I managed to found a frequently-borrowed book with notes scribbled down and corners of the pages folded... which is quite useful in the sense of getting a rough idea where to start my project.

#Didnt took the sunset yesterday, but I swear the sunset was much more beautiful than this one.#

I walked myself to Block C Cafeteria for the usual CO practice. And I realized that how much I miss the bright sunset over the mountains and above the lake. The wind was cold but soft, and it ease my mind from the stress. Finally reached the cafeteria and we all gathered outside for practices. Without surprise, we're informed that the concert was delayed. We ensembles + practices a song and called it a day. Great... it'll be a boring day then. 


And I think that I should create a new label named "FYP", for future use of course. =)

Week 2 Recap

Its been a busy week, although its just Week 2 of the semester !!! I'm assigned to most of the days to be a helper in the Chinese Orchestra Unit booth being set up in Block C Cafeteria for the last 5 days. 

#Seems like the decoration manager's creativity sharply rose !!! While every other clubs used black as background, Sensei used white instead, and the effect wasnt that bad at all !#

I was asked to go on stage perform to attract the attention of the crowd in cafeteria and for promotion of our Chinese Orchestra Unit among the students. Managed to play "To Zanarkand" from Final Fantasy X on DiZi with slight mistakes unnoticeable. Here's some pictures taken during the recruitment drive.

Nothing much to add on for the week, but the thing for sure is: I dont want my FYP !!! Can I just skip my FYP and graduate !?!?

And by the way, Fermentation just seems like another Mathematics subject from our foundation with lots of differentiation, integration and previously learnt calculations during Enzymology classes. Gotta pay full attention in the class or else I'll found myself lost in the middle of a pile of notes...
